Mihir Hirwani, Madhya Pradesh’s leg-spinner and son of former India cricketer, Narendra Hirwani, is all set to attend the trials of IPL Franchise, Mumbai Indians. The news was confirmed by the player himself to Sportstar.
Hirwani has played a total of 13 first-class games till now in which he has scalped 45 wickets. He has also played one T20 game for Madhya Pradesh. He made his first-class debut in 2015/16 season. As soon as he made his debut, Narendra Hirwani resigned from the post of MPCA selector to avoid the conflict of interest row.
Hirwani has also been part of IPL auction earlier but did not get any buyer. It’s a chance for him to draw the attention of the franchise. The second opportunity will too come soon for him and other players too as BCCI had already preponed the staging of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy so as the players could draw the attention of franchises towards them.
The auction for the upcoming IPL auction is all to take place on January 27 and 28 in Bangalore.
Meanwhile, Rajneesh Gurbani, the Vidarbha star has also been called up by Mumbai Indians to attend the trials. Gurbani was the part of the Vidarbha Ranji Trophy side that won the title for the first time. Gurbani bagged Man of the Match award in both semifinals and the finals. He scalped a hat-trick in the final against Delhi as well.
In other news related to the tournament, Royal Challengers Bangalore have officially confirmed the signing of Ashish Nehra and Gary Kirsten for the upcoming season. Though they are yet to reveal the players, they have retained, and any news on it is likely to be out on January 4 during the live telecast of the retention ceremony.
