Misbah-Ul-Haq Reveals Reason Behind Sacking Of Sarfaraz Ahmed

The sacking of Sarfaraz Ahmed has become a talk of the town in Pakistan. The flamboyant cricket was not only sacked from the captaincy but also removed from the teams that tour to Australia. Meanwhile, the head coach Misbah-Ul-Haq revealed the actual reason behind the sacking of Sarfaraz Ahmed.

On Friday, the board sacked the Pakistan cricketer from captaincy in Test and T20I format of the game. The board asked the youngster Babar Azam and the Test specialist Azhar Ali to take the role for Pakistan. And also, the board asked him to gain form by playing domestic cricket.

Speaking of the call, Misbah-ul-Haq quoted that the wicket-keeper batsman has to find it tough to go in the International cricket. Further, he added that Sarfaraz Ahmed is under pressure for every game, which Misbah-Ul-Haq thinks a negative for the player.

He wants Sarfaraz Ahmed to be burden-free and play his game in the domestic cricket. Once he gets runs under his belly, it will be a smooth way for him to get back to the national team.

“There are all kinds of strange theories in the media but it’s a simple thing, like the Chairman also said, it’s about Sarfaraz’s form & the pressure he was playing under. It was on the basis of that the decision to remove Sarfaraz from captaincy was taken,” Misbah-Ul-Haq said to the reporters.

Sarfaraz hasn’t done justice to his reputation with only a solitary fifty-plus score in ODIs, since the 2019 World Cup. In addition, his last T20I half-century came on June 12, 2018. In Tests, he has averaged less than 30 since the start of 2018.

Sarfaraz major achievement came when he guided Pakistan to a stunning ICC Champions Trophy win in 2017. It was where the Men in Green defeated India to clinch the prestigious title. However, shockingly ahead of the ICC World Cup 2020, they removed him from captaincy.
