The elusive pace-bowling trio put the batting line-ups of England and South Africa in deep trouble during their visits to 2018. However, it was their batting line-up due to which they suffered a series loss. However, all three outbowled Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood by a mile to secure their first Test series victory in Australia later that year.

During a conversation with Deep Dasgupta, Mohammed Shami replied when asked about their communication with Virat Kohli. The 29-year old speedster opened up on the same by stating that all of us are eager to take the new ball due to which they are in a fix and leave for Kohli to decide.

All three of us — Ishant (Sharma), (Jasprit) Bumrah, and I want to bowl with a new ball. When we are not able to choose, we approach Virat to decide.” Shami said as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo.

The Bengal pacer stated that the 31-year old gives the ball back to them and asks them to decide who would take the brand-new cherry. Under Virat Kohli, climbed to the top of the Test rankings in 2016 and held the spot for more than three years. Recently, Tim Paine’s Australia dethroned them.

“But he throws the ball back in our court saying whatever you all decide is fine by me.” he added.
