Mohammed Shami's Father-In-Law Opens Up on the Controversy

Mohamed Hassan, Mohammed Shami’s father-in-law, on Sunday (March 11) spoke up on the controversy surrounding the India pacer.

Shami had found himself at the mid of the storm after his wife, Hasin Jahan levelled sensational allegations against him.

Last week, Jahan alleged her husband was having extra-marital affairs with several women. She even claimed the pacer was physically assaulting and threatening her over a period of almost two years.

Jahan posted several screenshots on social media to back her claims. The pictures showed the chats Shami allegedly had with these women.

She had also filed a police complaint against Shami at the city police headquarters at Lalbazar. Not only Shami, but four other family members were also accused of torturing Jahan that saw them getting charged under several Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections.

But despite the controversy being one of the most talked-about topics in the nation, Shami’s father-in-law said he was unaware of the situations that were taking place. He also insisted the estranged couple should reunite.

“We are unaware of the reasons behind the dispute between Hasin Jahan and Mohammed Shami. We got to know about it through the media. Only Shami and Hasin would be able to tell what actually has happened. We don’t know much about it. Shami was a good person. He speaks less. We had no doubts about him. Only God knows how things have turned ugly,” he was quoted as saying to ABP News.

Hassan further said his daughter never opened up to him over the problems she faced. However, he said Jahan had said that things were “out of her control” after speaking to him recently.

“Hasin said on a call that she never wanted to tell others about it keeping in mind it’s a matter related to her family, but when things went out of control, she took this step,” Hassan added.

Meanwhile, Shami had dismissed all claims made against him and said he would resolve the matter with Jahan.

“I’m devastated, the allegations came as a shock to me, I will still stand as a wall to protect the image of my wife and daughter. I don’t think anybody can understand what I’m going through right now. I can only hope that she understands my side of the story and resolves it,” Shami said.

Shami also demanded a thorough investigation into the matter after his new BCCI contract was upheld.

“Whether it is me in the audio clip or not can be cleared later, and it will be cleared once investigations are done with. If I had taken any money, then it must reflect in my transactions. So I would request everyone to wait for the investigations,” Shami mentioned.
