MS Dhoni scripted history and became the 1st ever wicket-keeper to take five catches in a T20I match. Also, he affected a run-out on the last delivery of the England innings, making it six dismissals to his name in a T20I game.

The former India skipper achieved the feat during the 3rd and the deciding T20I against England at the County Ground in Bristol. The home team after batting first posted a competitive total of 198 in their allotted 20 overs. On a small ground like Bristol, India will back themselves to chase the total down.

England started off sensationally, as openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler went after the bowlers with disdain from the outset. Both smashed some audacious shots to get going.

Roy, in particular, destroyed India in the first eight overs, as England raced off to 94 in no time. He scored a quickfire 67 off 31 deliveries which studded with four fours and seven hits over the fence.

Dhoni became the 1st keeper to take 50 catches in T20I’s when he took the catch of Jason Roy. He added four more to his tally, as the innings progressed.

The home team batted well, but the Indian bowlers bounced back strongly after the first ten overs. At one stage, England looked well set for a score of over 200-220. However, the bowlers were quite impressive to restrict the English batters in the death overs.

They went for a few runs here and there, but in all, it was a good performance. We will have a great run chase in prospect, as India hopes to chase the total down. They have a star-studded batting line-up. However, the openers haven’t got off to good starts. It will be vital for Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan to get them off to a flying start which they have done so often in the past.

Meanwhile, the role of MS Dhoni will be crucial. He will come in the lower middle-order, and if India loses some early wickets, his role will become that more important.
