Rishabh Pant had another forgettable outing behind the stumps in the just-concluded second T20I between India and Bangladesh. The under-pressure youngster looked far from being impressive as he fumbled to collect the ball on a number of occasions. The highlight of his poor outing was the gaffe he made while stumping Liton Das.

During the sixth over of the first innings, a stumping chance was created on Yuzvendra Chahal’s delivery.  Liton Das stepped out of his crease and was unable to make contact with the ball. Pant could not have asked for an easier chance and he did take off the stumps in a flash. However, in doing so, he ended up making a very silly mistake.

He collected the ball in front of the wicket, which is considered as a no-ball. The wicket keeper has to collect the ball behind the wicket in order to stump out a batsman. Unsurprisingly, Pant was bashed on Twitter. Pant, however, was not the only one who faced the fans’ ire on Twitter. Along with Pant, India’s chief selector MSK Prasad also faced criticism from a number of fans.

The fans were quick to remind Prasad of his latest comments for MS Dhoni. While announcing the squad for the ongoing series, Prasad had made it clear that the selectors were moving on from Dhoni in order to try out youngsters.

“We are moving on,” Prasad had said. “Going into domestic cricket, getting his touch back or thoughts about retirement, everything is purely his personal [decision].

“We’ve already laid the roadmap for the future, I’m sure you can see in the way we are selecting the teams. We definitely had a chat with Dhoni and he also endorses our view of backing youngsters,” he added.

The fans slammed MSK Prasad and made it clear that they have still not forgotten his comments on Dhoni.
