Bangladesh batsman Sabbir Rahman is one of those cricketers who admires former India captain MS Dhoni. Rahman has also had his moments with Dhoni in international cricket. Known for his quick glovework behind the stumps, Dhoni had stumped Rahman in 2016 World T20 in Bengauluru. But the Bangladesh batsman was cautious during the 2019 World Cup and denied a repeat of the event.

Rahman went on to score 36 runs off as many deliveries for a losing cause against India. Bangladesh were bundled out for 286 runs chasing a stiff total of 317 as India clinched victory by 28 runs in Birmigham. But for Rahman, personally, his meeting with MS Dhoni after the match and getting his bat was the highlight of the match. He also took valuable tips to the Bangladesh batsman.

Sabbir Rahman reveals condition on which MS Dhoni gave his bat

Sabbir Rahman was ecstatic after the match and asked MS Dhoni for his bat. The former India captain gave him the bat but with the condition that he cannot play with it against his side.

“Then I say to him give me one of your bats and I will try to play against you with that bat and He told me that not against us, you can play with another team but can’t play against me,” Sabbir Rahman said in an interview to Cricfrenzy.

Rahman, 28, has played 11 Tests, 66 ODIs and 44 T20Is for Bangladesh. He averages around 25 across formats and has been a decent fit in the middle-order for his national team.
