The Indian team-management looks set to face a big dilemma when they sit down to decide the wicketkeeper for next year’s T20 World Cup. As of now, young Rishabh Pant looks set to be the man to don the wicketkeeping gloves in Australia. Incumbent MS Dhoni took a break from cricket after the World Cup and is yet to return to the team.
Reports have suggested that MS Dhoni took the break so that Pant could get time in the playing eleven and could seal his place. However, Pant has failed to impress thus far. While he has done quite well in Tests, it is his form in ODIs and T20Is that has left a lot to be desired. There are now also calls from several quarters to drop the youngster.

With pitches in India set to spin, the team-management is of the opinion that Pant might struggle behind the stumps. Well, only time will tell who dons the gloves against the Proteas.

But if Suresh Raina is given the opportunity to pick the ‘keeper for next year’s T20 World Cup, he will definitely go for MS Dhoni. In a recent interview, the out-of-favour India star made it clear that he would love to see Dhoni keeping the wickets in the tournament next year.
“He is still fit, still a terrific wicket-keeper and still the greatest finisher in the game. Dhoni will be an asset for India in the T20 World Cup,” Raina told The Hindu.
