There is little doubt that MS Dhoni is a born leader. He is a natural leader of men and this has been proved a million times during his career.

Time and again, cricketers who have played under the leadership of MS Dhoni, has hailed the former World Cup-winning captain for the way he has backed them, something that proceeded to bring the best out of them.

And, Dwayne Bravo is a glaring example of it. In a recent chat with Harsha Bhogle on Cricbuzz, the West Indian all-rounder hailed MS Dhoni as one of the greatest leaders while also admitting that Dhoni has placed more faith and confidence in him as compared to the West Indies cricket board.

It’s strange. We’re so different in so many ways. I’ve asked myself many times, why someone like MS has so much faith in me. My own board and selectors don’t have the same faith. But Mahi respects my talent and the way I play the game. That means a lot to me because this is arguably the greatest captain in the world and he has so much faith. More often than not I deliver. That’s what happens when you back someone 100 percent,” he said.

Bravo made his debut for the Chennai Super Kings in the 2011 edition of the Indian Premier League and while he didn’t get off to the best of starts, he was well and truly backed by the MS Dhoni-led CSK management. And, eventually, Bravo delivered.

The charismatic all-rounder went on to claim a record 32 wickets in the 2013 edition. Overall in 89 games that Bravo has played for the Yellow Army, he has claimed 104 wickets besides scoring 927 runs.

Bravo was retained by the Chennai Super Kings courtesy the ‘Right to Match’ card for Rs 6.4 crore. The all-rounder played a crucial role in Chennai winning the 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League. Bravo also shares a very good rapport with MS Dhoni.

After CSK won the 2018 season, the all-rounder was involved in a 3-run dash with Dhoni, which he later revealed was due to MS Dhoni frequently teasing him on his age.
