Pakistan’s reputed pace-bowling attack has the Englishmen on their knees in the ongoing Test at the Old Trafford in Manchester. Naseem Shah, who landed in England with a lofty reputation was in the scheme of things with his fearsome pace bowling. After claiming the wicket of Ollie Pope, Naseem Shah delivered a nasty bouncer to Chris Woakes that broke his helmet.

Naseem Shah was one of the pace bowlers, who got the nod alongside Mohammad Abbas and Shaheen Shah Afridi for the first of the three Tests. The teen prodigy made his Test debut in Brisbane in November 2019 but created an impression a month later. The 17-year old picked up his maiden five-wicket haul against Sri Lanka and went on to claim a Test hat-trick against Bangladesh too. It made him the youngest bowler to do so in the longest format of the game.

At the time of writing this, when England were struggling at 150-5 with Jos Buttler and Woakes on the crease. Shan Masood struck a brilliant 156 that mounted Pakistan to 326 after which Abbas and Afridi left the hosts reeling at 16-3 at one stage. Pope’s counterattack got England to finish at 92-4 on the second day.
