New Zealand’s interim ODI captain Tom Latham has reflected the value of losing a key player like Kane Williamson. Williamson has been ruled out of the first two ODIs of the three-match series against India. He suffered a shoulder injury in the third game of the T20I series.
Therefore, it eventually led to his rest for the final two games of the T20I series, so that, he could be available for the impending ODIs.
But, the Kiwis hopes of having his captain back for the ODIs have faded away. The Black Caps suffered a humiliating defeat against India in the T20I series. India clean-swept the Kiwis 5-0 for the first time. Williamson’s injury has faded New Zealand’s hopes of bouncing back in the ODI series.
