The score is now the highest in the history of ODI cricket including men’s cricket. England hold the record for the highest score in the men’s game when they amassed 444/3 in 50 overs against Pakistan at Nottingham on August 30, 2016.

Opening the innings, Bates set the tone for the huge total. She slammed 24 boundaries and two sixes while adding 172 runs with opener Jess Watkin (62). Bates was dismissed in the 30th over but by then she had already inflicted a lot of damage on the hosts. She scored 151 off just 94 balls. On the other hand, Watkin struck 10 boundaries in her composed 59-ball 62-runs knock.

Number three batswoman Maddy Green fully capitalises on New Zealand’s amazing start. She scored 121 runs off 77 balls to ensure her team does not squander the great start. Green slammed 15 boundaries and a six in her entertaining knock.

Middle-order batswoman Amelia Kerr also shone with an unbeaten knock of 81 runs. The knock came off just 45 balls and was studded with with nine boundaries and three sixes.

For Ireland women, Cara Murray led their bowling attack as she took two wickets. However, she conceded 119 runs in her 10-over spell that made her the most expensive bowler in the history of ODI cricket.

Apart from Murray, as many as three bowlers conceded more than 90 runs in their 10 overs.

Louise Little, Lara Maritz, Gaby Lewis bore the brunt of New Zealand’s assault as they conceded 92 runs each. Amy Kenealy also went for plenty, giving away 81 runs off 9 overs.
