Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif, on Tuesday, showed that he has still got it as he took a stunning catch to send back Chamara Kapugedera during the Road Safety World Series match between India Legends and Sri Lanka Legends at the DY Patil Sports Academy Stadium.

Kapugedera must have thought that he had done enough to send the ball over the boundary ropes when he flicked a Zaheer Khan delivery behind square. It was a fullish delivery on the leg side from Zaheer and the ex-Sri Lanka international connected well with the ball.

The ball was looking set to cross the boundary but Mohammad Kaif had some other plans. Regarded as one of the finest fielders in history of Indian cricket, Mohammad Kaif ran to his right, made a full length dive before taking the catch with both hands to make the crowd go wild.

Here is a clip of that catch from Mohammad Kaif:

Meanwhile, India Legends rode on Irfan Pathan’s unbeaten knock of 57 to defeat Sri Lanka Legends by five wickets. Chasing 139, India Legends got off to the worst possible start as the side lost Sachin Tendulkar (0) in the very first over of the innings. Soon after, Virender Sehwag (3) and Yuvraj Singh (1) were sent back to the pavilion, reducing India to 19/3 in the fifth over.

Mohammad Kaif and Sanjay Bangar then stopped the rot by putting on 43 runs for the fourth wicket. But they failed to put the team in a safe position as their stand came to an end in the 11th over as Rangana Herath dismissed Bangar (18).

With 58 runs required from 34 balls, Kaif (46) also gave away his wicket. But Irfan Pathan changed the momentum of the innings in the final overs as he kept on scoring boundaries and found a good ally in Manpreet Gony. Pathan and Gony went on to put up a partnership of 58 runs, taking India to a victory by five wickets and with eight balls to spare.
