Yet another bizarre incident took place in the game of cricket. Of late, we came across quite a few shocking scorecards in International cricket. The latest to enter into those stats is the scorecard of Oman Cricket Team, who were bundled out for 24 runs against Scotland Cricket Team.

They were bowled out for 24 in only 17.1 overs by Scotland in a one-day match at Al Amarat on Tuesday. This happens to be the 4th lowest score in List A cricket. West Indies U 19 were bowled out for 18 against Barbados in 2007, the lowest ever in List A.

In another story, Saracens and Middlesex were bundled out for 19 and 23 runs respectively against Colts and Yorkshire. Saracens vs Colts took place in 2012 while Middlesex vs Yorkshire was in 1974.

Smith and Neil shared 8 wickets for 14 runs combinedly:

To Oman’s relief, the ongoing series isn’t an official one otherwise the visitor’s win with 280 balls to spare would have gone down the record books as the biggest margin of victory by balls remaining.  They are yet to get the ODI status from the International Cricket Council.

Initially, it was Oman, who were asked to bat by Scotland. Both the openers walked back for a duck to their names. The only double-digit scorer for Oman is the number 3 batsman Khawar Ali, who scored 21 to his name. The number 4 and 5, Michal and Nadeem registered 0 and 2 respectively to see scorecard read 8/4.

In total, 6 off their batsmen have been knocked out for a duck. For Scotland, Smith and Neill bagged four wickets to their name. Smith registered 4/7 in 8 overs while Neill also registered 4/7 in his 4.1 overs.

In reply to the chase, Scotland openers Matthew Cross and Kyle Coetzer finished the innings with as many as 280 deliveries left in the kitty. Cross scored 10* while the Scotland skipper scored 16*.

Brief Scores:

Oman – 24-all-out (K Ali 15, Smith 4/7, Neil 4/7)

Scotland – 26/0 (Coetzer 16*, Cross 10*)
