Both were taken to the Dr Dhawale Charitable Hospital at Palgar on Tuesday night. His father Narendra Thakur was later shifted to Leelavati hospital as a brain clot was detected by the doctors. The couple were returning back to their home after attending a wedding in Alyali in Palghar.

Construction of road was going on near Sundaran school and unfortunately, Narendra couldn’t see the work that was going on due to no streetlights in that area. Locals took the couple to the Palghar hospital and Dr Prakash Gudsoorkar, ortho surgeon detected a brain clot during a CT scan and at around 2300 hrs Narendra was shifted to Leelavati Hospital.

Parents out of danger

“The patient is diabetic with hyper tension and already had undergone two heart surgeries and suffered intra cranial bleeding (intern bleeding of skull and brain) and was vomitting, hence we advised him to be shifted to the Mumbai hospital while his wife has been discharged as she suffered minor injuries”, said the medico.

Doctors have confirmed no serious damage to either of the patients. Shardul rushed from Pune, the venue for Chennai Super Kings’ home games. Shardul’s team is currently at the second spot in the points table. There have been no confirmation whether the pacer will take part in the upcoming games. The 26-year-old went wicket-less against Bangalore and Mumbai but is a key member for the MS Dhoni-led side. Shardul has so far picked eight wickets in the league and he will look to do better in the coming games and make a bid to return in the national fold.
