Pakistan Announce 15-Man Squad For The Second ODI Against Zimbabwe

Pakistan prevailed victorious in the first ODI in Rawalpindi against Zimbabwe as the tourists fell short by 26 runs in pursuit of 282. Pakistan, who played an ODI after almost 12 months, will look to clinch the three-match series when they face the African nation at the same venue. The hosts have announced a 15-man squad for the second ODI.

Four new faces have made it to the squad from the first ODI, which consist of Haider Ali, Khushdil Shah, Usman Qadir, Muhammad Musa Khan. Of the four that have been named in the squad for the next One-day international, only Usman Qadir does not have an international cap to his name. Usman Qadir is the son of the legendary spin-bowler Abdul Qadir and has played 11 first-class, 21 List A, and 35 T20 games so far.

It was Brendan Taylor’s hundred that spearheaded Zimbabwe’s reply in the first ODI in a steep chase of 282. Babar Azam, who won the toss in his first ODI as captain, elected to bat first. Imam-Ul-Haq and Haris Sohail led the way with half-centuries with the latter top-scoring with 71 off 92 deliveries. With the ball, Shaheen Shah Afridi was the game changer as he finished with figures of 10-0-49-5 while Wahab Riaz took four as Imad Wasim claimed the remaining one.
