Imam-ul-Haq was one of the worst performers for Pakistan on their just-concluded disastrous tour of Australia. The visitors left for their home empty handed and very little positives. Barring the performance of Babar Azam, there were not too many positives for the beleaguered Pakistan side. Pakistan could not win a single game during the T20I and the Test series.

The tour started on a damp note as the first T20I ended without a result due to rain. But since then, things only went downhill for the tourists. They were completely outplayed in the remaining two T20Is and their condition only worsened in the subsequent Test series. Australia won both the games by an innings.

They won the series-opener by an innings and five runs before winning the second game by an innings and 48 runs. Babar Azam’s century at the Gabba and his 97-run knock in Adelaide were the only bright spots for the visitors. Yasir Shah also scored a ton in Adelaide but disappointed with the ball which was his main task.

Imam-ul-Haq faces the heat:

Imam-ul-Haq ended his Australia tour on a terrible note, getting out for a duck in the second innings of the Adelaide Test. The game was a chance for the Pakistan opener to show the tea-management that they were wrong to keep him out of the playing eleven for the most part of the tour.

During the entire tour, he made it to the playing eleven just twice – one T20I and one Test. In all the other games, he just warmed the bench and did little to show that the team-management was wrong in dropping him. Having scored only 14 in the solitary T20I he played in Australia, the left-handed batsman scored just 2 and 0 in the ongoing game as Pakistan look set to suffer yet another innings defeat.

And to make matters worse for himself, Imam-ul-Haq was seen sharing a hearty laugh with Australia coach Justin Langer at the post-match presentation ceremony. Former Pakistan cricketer Faisal Iqbal as well as a number of fans took to Twitter to slam Imam after seeing him sharing a laugh with Langer.
