India and Pakistan are the two nations who have suffered a lot due to political tensions between both the countries since their independence in 1947. The political escalations have affected their bilateral sports treaties as well. Bot the countries have not played a bilateral series since 2013.

This just goes on to show how bad the relations have gone. What adds to the misery is things don’t seem to take a turn for good and the fans might have to wait a lot more to witness a bilateral series. The only time when the two countries compete against each other is when they play in a multi-nation tournament.

International cricket was away from Pakistan for a very long time as the country has been marred with terrorism and other countries didn’t want to visit the sub-continent side. As a result, they had to play all their home games in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In fact, their premier domestic T20 league competition, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) wasn’t played entirely in their country as many of the players refused to travel to the nation. This has resulted in great financial and cricketing loss for the nation.

However, international cricket has returned to Pakistani land with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh touring them consecutively. Also, for the first time, the entire season PSL will be played in the home country this season.

This has resulted in experts and fans vouching for a bilateral series between both the nations. On Saturday, a similar incident happened during one of the games of PSL 2020.

Pakistan Fans Demand India To Tour Them For A Series

During the ongoing PSL 2020 edition, Lahore fans had a special message for the cricketing fraternity as they wish to see the revival of Indo-Pak bilateral ties.

Pakistan’s known sports journalist Saj Sadiq shared the image from the Lahore stadium via his official Twitter handle.

It is quite notable that India’s last visit to Pakistan was in 2006 during Rahul Dravid’s tenure as captain. Back then, MS Dhoni was still making a name for himself and India had tasted success in the ODI series but lost the three-match Test series 0-1.

Recently, Indian and Pakistan legendary all-rounders Yuvraj Singh and Shahid Afridi also demanded that a bilateral series should take place between both the nations for the growth of cricket and mutual affection between both the nations through the sport.
