While Pakistan are desperate to resume international cricket at home in full flow, they are not really getting a good response from the other teams. In September last year when they hosted Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series, as many as ten players from the visiting team including captain Lasith Malinga had pulled out of the tour citing security reasons.

Last month, they did host a full strength Sri Lankan team for a two-match Test series. However, they are now struggling to convince Bangladesh to play a Test series in their backyard later this month. Pakistan wanted to host Bangladesh for a T20I and Test series together but the latter want the series to be divided in two legs. The BCB had proposed to tour for the T20Is first, and decide on the Tests based on players’ feedback about security and other aspects of touring.

As of now, nothing has been decided and only the coming days will clear as to whether Bangladesh will tour Pakistan. And at a time when a tussle is going on between Pakistan Cricket Board and their Bangladesh counterpart, West Indies superstar Chris Gayle has praised the security conditions in Pakistan.

Chris Gayle, who is currently in Bangladesh for the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, has boldly said that Pakistan is one of the safest places in the world right now.

“Pakistan is one of the safest places right now in the world. They say you will get presidential security so you are in good hands,” said Chris Gayle.

Meanwhile, Chris Gayle has made it clear that his love for cricket is still going strong. Having taken a break from the game towards the end of 2019, Gayle has returned to action in Bangladesh Premier League where he is representing Chattogram Challengers. Gayle said he would continue playing T20s for a while yet.

“A lot of people still want see Chris Gayle out there in the middle,” Gayle said during a media interaction in Dhaka. “I still have that love for the game and that passion for the game as well. And I would love to carry on as long as possible.
