Former Australian all-rounder Tom Moody expressed his disappointment on the pitch that is being used for the ongoing opening Test between Pakistan and Australia. The match which has got underway today is being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Batting first,  Pakistan openers Mohammad Hafeez and Imam-ul-Haq shared a massive 204 runs stand to set the hosts well on course for a big total.

However, it was quite evident from the pitch that it had nothing on offer for neither the faster bowlers nor the slow bowlers. Tom Moody compared the pitch with a road. Taking to his Twitter handle, Tom Moody wrote, “Such a shame that test cricket is subjected to pitches like this!! #PakVAus #road.” The Pakistan openers came out all guns blazing and made a terrific start.

Imam-ul-Haq came out to open the innings with comeback man Mohammad Hafeez. It was a great comeback from Hafeez as he smashed a brilliant century. However, there is no denying the fact that the pitch was placid and was totally unresponsive. Hence the reason was quite evident why Tom Moody was so disappointed with the pitch conditions in Dubai.

The colour of the pitch looked like a concrete and it had nothing on offer for the bowlers. The Australian bowlers found it very difficult to get the wickets and the Pakistan batters made merry. Mohammad Hafeez looked in complete control of proceedings and smashed the Australian bowlers pretty well.

However, both of the batsmen were dismissed in quick succession. Azhar Ali was also dismissed after making 18 of 80 deliveries, Eventually, Pakistan finished the day’s play on 255/3 in their allotted 90 overs. The wicket takers for Australia was Nathan Lyon, Peter Siddle and Jon Holland.
