After starring with the ball in the second Test against Australia, Pakistan fast-bowler Mohammad Abbas has said he bowled to his strength and stated that he is ready to play white-ball cricket too.

Mohammad Abbas tore apart Australia as Pakistan beat the visitors by 373 runs in the second Test at Abu Dhabi to win the two-match series 1-0.  The 373-run win is Pakistan’s biggest win in terms of runs in Test cricket history. Their previous best of 356-run victory margin was also registered against Australia in 2014.

Abbas played a huge role in the massive win. He picked up five wickets in both the innings as Australia never looked in contention to save the game let alone winning it.

Chasing and improbable 538 to win the second Test and series, Australia crumbled for 164 after lunch on Day 4. Abbas, who had picked up his career-best 5/33 in the first innings, blew away Australia once again on the fourth day morning as the visitors lost 4 wickets for mere 7 runs.

Travis Head became Abbas’ first victim of the day. The left-handed batsman’s dismissal opened the floodgates as Australia slipped to 78 for 5 from 71 for 1. Shah picked up all the four wickets and went on to finish with figures of 5 for 62.  Abbas deservedly bagged the Man of the Match award.

Speaking after the game, he dedicated the spell to his daughter before opening up on his bowling plans:

It’s a day of great delight for me. It’s my daughter’s birthday tomorrow, will dedicate this to her. Whatever the pitch, my job is to bowl to my strengths. I’ve been man of the series back to back. Wanted to replicate my performances from England. Bowled to my strengths, to the opposition’s weakness. No one is perfect (talking about himself). Hit my areas. Didn’t get out of my circle. Thing of great pride for me. Wanted to do this in England too, but couldn’t do so. I’m doing my thing, if Pakistan needs me in limited-overs, I’m there.
