Parthiv Patel is the captain of Jasprit Bumrah in the Gujarat Ranji team. Though Bumrah due to his international commitments is not a regular in the Ranji trophy, Parthiv Patel is mighty impressed with the Ahmedabad fast bowler. Bumrah has not only spearheaded the national team bowling attack but also contributed to the fore in Mumbai Indians’ success story.
Bumrah with his slightly slinging bowling action has been effective in the opening overs and can be relied in the death overs as well. He has been hard to be picked up by batsmen of any stature and hardly gives away many runs.
Bumrah has played 77 matches in the IPL. He has picked up 82 wickets at an average of 26.59 and economy rate of 7.55. He is a kind of bowler any franchise will like to have in their side and no one would like to lose.
Parthiv Patel: I told Virat Kohli, he is the guy we should be picking him
Parthiv Patel revealed he had asked his RCB skipper Virat Kohli to Bumrah in their side. However, they were outwitted by Mumbai Indians, and he went to the Mukesh-Nita Ambani owner franchise.
“I told Virat that this is the guy, we should be picking him! But obviously, Mumbai Indians outwitted RCB and he went to Mumbai Indians,” Patel said on ‘Lockdown But Not Out series by FanCode, Parthiv Patel.’
In the lucrative tournament, the RCB have seen plenty of big names in their ranks, but yet to win the trophy.
