'Priyam is slapping Williamson': Twitter Lauds Priyam Garg For Scoring Stunning Fifty After Kane Williamson's Run-out

Former India U19 skipper Priyam Garg has become a hero among the fans after his sensational fifty in the ongoing game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. More than his stunning fifty, what has impressed the fans is the character he showed during the innings.
Priyam Garg was under pressure to deliver after playing a big part in Kane Williamson’s run-out earlier in the innings. The score was only 69 in the 11th over when the youngster decided against taking a quick single which resulted in the former Sunrisers skipper’s run-out.
Following the run-out, Williamson lost his cool and gave a stare to his younger teammate before walking off the field. Well, Priyam Garg went on to make amends for his mistake by scoring a fine fifty and take Sunrisers to a competitive total of 164 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs.
In the last 9 overs, he helped his side collect 95 runs while slamming a 23-ball fifty. It is his maiden fifty in IPL. His knock was studded with six fours and one fine six off Sam Curran. He added 77 runs for the fifth wicket with Abhishek Sharm to bail his side out of trouble.
And as soon Priyam Garg reached his fifty, the fans took to Twitter to laud him for the way he responded with the bat following the run-out of Williamson.
Here are the reactions to his stunning fifty:
Priyam is slapping Williamson, and not CSK bowlers, for the stare he gave him #SRHvCSK #CSKvsSRH

Priyam Garg’s just hit my favourite 50 of #IPL2020
The mental strength to see an angry Kane Williamson stalking off after your first ball in, to being 8 off 8 balls with run-rate dwindling, to suddenly unleashing a Rohit-in-death-overs avatar.
Incredible. #CSKvSRH

The Williamson run out did not impact you. That’s just terrific to see. Glad to see this Priyam Garg. Delighted to see you prove me wrong. Now finish well. Get this to 175. Samad for company.

Maiden fifty for 19-year old Priyam Garg in just 23 balls. Many wanted him to sacrifice his wicket for Kane Williamson, but he showed how much he’s capable of hitting big shots. Wonderful knock.

All I am saying is, the poise shown by Garg after the Williamson run out is why I have a lot of time for our cricketing systems.

Garg > Williamson

So Williamson was right to sacrifice his wicket for the young Priyam Garg then. ?

The audacity to deny Williamson and the swift runs scoring, Priyam Garg is special @SunRisers #IPL2020

Priyam Garg — you beauty. CLASS batting. Good to see that run-out with Kane Williamson didn’t affect his concentration. Great composure #CSKvsSRH

SRH, meanwhile, will be looking to make the most of the momentum and win the ongoing game. After losing their first two games, SRH won their previous game against Delhi Capitals while Chennai Super Kings are playing this game on the back of two back-to-back losses.
