Ahead of their fourth game in the ongoing Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) third edition, it’s franchise had to suffer a big blow. The left-handed batsman Haris Sohail nursed hand injury during the practice session.
The 29-year-old Sailkot-born batsman Sohail missed out the all-important game against Quetta Gladiators.
However, on March 2, the reigning champions Zalmi’s skipper led from the front. The prolific all-rounder saw the Peshawar-based side home by five wickets.
Sohail, who had a decent outing in the bilateral series against New Zealand further had a mixed out for Zalmi.

In the curtain-raiser against new entrant Multan Sultans, Sohail managed just 14 runs. He returned to score four and one against Islamabad United and Karachi Kings respectively.
Owing to the torrid time in the United Arab Emirates, Sohail suffered a massive setback with the injury. The injury-marred batsman had to face a tough time during his early days of professional career.
Sohail, who represented Pakistan in 24 One-day Internationals, seven T20Is, and two Test also played 60 T20s. He scored 1,320 runs at an average of 32.19 while having nine fifties under his belt.

On the other side, bowling all-round Umaid Asif has been a backup player for Haris Sohail and remarkable youngster Hasan Ali.
The 24-year-old promising bowler Ali is yet to return for Zalmi after nursing the ankle injury during New Zealand recently.
The 33-year-old Asif inclusion proved to be fruitful for Zalmi camp. He bagged six wickets in his first three outings.
Interestingly, the right-arm bowler used his skills well with the white-ball. He also registered his best Twenty20 cricket figures when he claimed four wickets after conceding 23 runs.
Asif has so far featured in 34 T20s in which he bagged 42 wickets at an impressive average of 20.16.
After going wicketless in his second outing against Karachi Kings, Asif bagged two scalps. He gave away 18 runs against Gladiators led by Sarfraz Ahmed.
? Harris Sohail injured his hand during practice and will be out of action for a few games.
