Team Needs Psychologist To Guide Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw During Scrutiny: Yuvraj Singh

Rishabh Pant was touted to fill in the big boots of MS Dhoni across format. But as he failed to capitalise on the chances he was given with his poor shot selection and questionable glovework, it opened the doors for KL Rahul. Pant was also severely scrutinized by the media and cricket fraternity.

Rishbah Pant, however, continues to be backed by senior India members like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. They think the Delhi batsman has come under sever scrutiny very early in his career and should be given some breathing space.

Guys like Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant Are Talented But Need Psychologist To Guide Them Better: Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh feels youngsters like Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant are immensely talented but they need a psychologist to guide them better during scrutiny. He also said in the current national team there is no one to talk on the mental front of players and that is why someone in that role is required.

“In this team, there is no one to talk to about the mental front of players. Guys like Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant are so talented. But now with so much scrutiny and media around, you need somebody to talk to,” Yuvraj said on a Youtube show. “The team needs a good psychologist. But he has to be respected,” said the 38-year-old.

Pant averages 26.71 in the ODIs and 20.50 in T20Is. He has also been given opportunities in the longest format and scored at average of 38.76.
