After missing out a place in the playing XI for Indian National Cricket Team, Umesh Yadav breaths fire in the Indian domestic circuit. Playing for Vidarbha in an all-important game, he showed his mojo by picking up his best figures ever in the domestic circuit. He dismantled Kerala to just 106 runs on the board.

Initially, it was Faiz Fazal, who won the toss and asked his bowlers to do the job. Perhaps, Umesh Yadav wanted his side to bat on the very same day, as he just ran through the defence of Kerala batsmen with ease. His incredible spell saw as many as 8 batsmen walking back for a single digit score.

Umesh Yadav picks 7, Gurbani bags 3:

Umesh sent opener Mohammad Azhar to open his account of seven wickets and then sent back Joseph in quick succession. Later, he sent five Kerala batsmen back to the hut in a trot. Apart from Vishnu Vinod, none of the Kerala batsmen had clue in tackling Vidarbha bowling attack.

Recently, he took a nine-wicket match haul against Uttarakhand in the quarter-finals, for which he was awarded the man of the match. Now, he followed it up with a brilliant 7-wicket haul in an innings. Perhaps, Umesh wants to send a note for selectors ahead of ICC World Cup 2019.

Recently, in an interview with the Indian Express,  Umesh Yadav quoted ”It depends. I feel I started playing cricket because I was passionate about bowling. As long as I remain passionate, it should not really matter whether I am playing Upar yaa Neeche.”

”So I try and do that, to keep the same mindset irrespective of whether I am playing Ranji Trophy or international cricket. I can’t let myself slip into a negative zone, so I try and keep telling myself “Koi Nahin, abhi kharaab hua, ab achha hoga. You will get your chance soon and you got to be ready to grab that.”

Currently, Vidarbha is on top of the game, where they have already scored 96 runs for the loss of one wicket at the end of the 2nd session. The skipper Faiz Fazal and Wasim Jaffer are knocking runs at ease for the team.
