On Sunday, the game between Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades witnessed a bizarre moment when the umpire Greg Davidson caught in two minds for a decision regarding the LBW. He almost declared the batsman ”out” before changing the decision at the last moment to fake a nose scratch in Rashid Khan’s delivery to Webster of Melbourne Renegades.

The incident happened in the17th over of the Renegades innings, as Rashid Khan appealed for an lbw. As the umpire started to raise his finger, the batsman, Beau Webster, started to walk. Rashid Khan also started celebrating. However, behind him, the umpire had changed his mind and had his finger under his nose.

It was a fair call – Rashid Khan

Speaking of the incident, Rashid Khan stated that he didn’t know that umpire changed the decision as he was celebrating the wicket after Greg Davidson raising his finger. Following the drama on the field, he learnt from his teammates that the decision made by Davidson was right.

Rashid Khan finds it funny after watching the scene on the big screen. He further appreciated the umpire for not giving it out, as he wasn’t 100% sure. With no reviews are available for the batsman, Rashid Khan feels umpire must be at his best to give the correct decisions.

The Renegades ended their chase of 156 with 137/8. They looked solid while chasing down the target at one stage. However, following the dismissal of Finch with the score at 88/3, the side then collapsed to 100/6. Webster tried to architect a comeback, but it was too late for him in the end.
