Team India has been on a roll across all three formats of the game, and their performance has been on the constant rise since the last couple of years, especially after Ravi Shastri’s appointment. Barring a few hiccups here and there, the Men in Blue undoubtedly have been the team to beat in the last year or so. Former Indian coach Anil Kumble who had a wonderful time in his short stint made way for Ravi Shastri as it was learnt that Team India skipper Virat Kohli and a few other team members had reservations with his coaching style and wanted Shastri to be appointed as the new coach.
The former Indian all-rounder understands the current Indian team well and most of the boys gel along with him perfectly. Meanwhile the Indian team will be travelling to South Africa in a few day’s time and the real character of both Kohli and Shastri will be tested there. The team looks a pretty balanced unit and even former coach Anil Kumble feels that the team might create history and clinch their first series in the rainbow nation.
