Rishabh Pant Issues Warning to MS Dhoni Ahead of IPL 2019

MS Dhoni, the veteran India cricketer, is in the fag end of his career, and sooner or later, he would announce his retirement from limited-overs cricket. So who is there to replace him right away? The list includes a few players, but Rishabh Pant’s name sits at the top position. Though Dinesh Karthik would remain in line to fill Dhoni’s shoes in the team; the selectors seemed high on the young prodigy. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant has issued a warning to his idol ahead of the IPL 2019.

As all the eight franchises gear up for the twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League, the Delhi Capitals appeared to take a step ahead. In a video released by the franchise on their Twitter handle, their star batsman, Rishabh Pant is seen giving a gentle warning to MS Dhoni to be wary of his game. Though he had mentioned earlier, MS happens to be his idol, and had he not been there, Pant wouldn’t have picked keeping gloves.

However, he further added the time has come for Dhoni to make a note of Pant’s explosive cricket. Rishabh Pant tweeted,

CSK to start as favourites in IPL 2019

The history says there a contrasting script for everyone to read when it comes to Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals in the IPL. Though Delhi had never won an IPL in eleven years, MS Dhoni-led CSK had been crowned champions for joint-record three times. Even in the past season, they clinched gold – beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in the finale.

As far as personal performances were concerned, Pant was the second highest run-scorer in the tournament; hitting 684 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 173.60. MS Dhoni, on the other hand, scored 455 runs in 16 games, having a strike rate of 150 plus.
