There has been this wave about sportspeople getting married recently. You pick up ace Badminton star, Saina Nehwal, Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman, Sanju Samson or even Karnataka opener, Mayank Agarwal; all of these known personalities had hitched in the past year. Meanwhile, another India cricketer has joined the list. The Himachal Pradesh all-rounder, Rishi Dhawan, on Sunday (February 10th) tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Deepali Chauhan.
Wedding Bells for Rishi Dhawan!
Meanwhile, both, Rishi and Deepali exchanged marriage vows in a private ceremony. In an Instagram post, Rishi revealed the delightful news. He captioned,
‘Finally the day has come, got hitched with the most beautiful girl @deepz_chauhan05, lots nd lots of love to you,’
Dhawan debuted in Australia
The all-rounder made his international debut against Australia in an ODI in Melbourne in 2016. Though he played just two games, Rishi failed to leave an impact, scoring a mere 12 runs with the bat and picking one wicket. His ODI career didn’t find a path after that, but he played a solitary T20I against Zimbabwe in June later that year. Again, failing to impress with the bat, the right-handed bowler compensated by picking one for 24.
Meanwhile, Rishi Dhawan had come in the team when India was searching for a seam-bowling all-rounder. At that point, India had tried Stuart Binny as an option; but he couldn’t impress the selectors for a long time, thus finding himself on the benches.
Ranji season boasts Rishi’s numbers
Rishi Dhawan has had a mediocre Ranji Trophy 2018-19. Though he is known to provide breakthroughs, Dhawan could manage all but 18 wickets in eight matches. As Himachal Pradesh won just three of their eight games in India’s premier domestic tournament; they collected 22 points and, as a result, Dhawan couldn’t inspire his team to enter the semifinals.
