Ever since Nayar broke the news, his teammates and fans have bombarded him with tribute for his immense contribution to Mumbai Cricket. And Rohit Sharma also did not take long to do his bit. The India opener took to Twitter to hail Nayar, writing:

???One of Mumbais stalwarts is biding adieu to Mumbai cricket. I have known this guy for a long time and I can honestly say he???s the most selfless man I have met. Giving back to the game/players is his forte. Good luck with all the exciting things ahead buddy @abhisheknayar1???

Things turned sour for Nayar in the last season of Ranji Trophy. He had a forgettable outing last season. He scored only 130 runs and took eight wickets from five games before being dropped for the rest of the season. Earlier this year, he also could not make it Mumbai???s pre-season preparatory camp.

Good luck with all the exciting things ahead Abhishek Nayar: Rohit Sharma
