Virat Kohli’s recent comments regarding Rohit Sharma injury fiasco has made it pretty clear that not all is well within the team. The India skipper lashed out at the authorities as he stated that there was a lack of communication over his teammate’s injury.
Virat Kohli stated that he had no idea why Rohit Sharma didn’t fly with the team to Australia after returning to action in the IPL. Rohit was initially not named in any of the squads for the Australia tour after his hamstring injury. However, he was later included in the Test squad after he played three games for Mumbai Indians.

But after the conclusion of IPL 2020, he decided to return to India while the rest of the team left for Australia. The opener is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for his rehab. The BCCI has stated that he would be assessed on December 11 and would fly to Australia for the Test series only after clearing the fitness tests.
Lack of communication impacting team’s unity:
A huge number of fans have said that there is an apparent lack of communication that is hurting team morale. The Times of India recently conducted a poll in which the fans made it clear that they are not at all impressed with the recent turn of events in Indian cricket.
The poll was done after India’s crushing 66-run loss at the hands of Australia in the first ODI in Sydney. The Men in Blue looked far from being at their best as Australia thoroughly dominated the contest to take the lead in the three-match ODI series.
Another question was – ‘Does this negatively impact the team’s unity and morale?’
In reply, the fans made it clear that it indeed does. The fans’ votes made it clear that the recent events do negatively impact the team’s unity and morale. There were 14574 responses for yes and 1789 responses for the no option.
In another question, the fans were asked – ‘Do you think IPL interests are being put ahead of Indian team interests?’. There were 12698 responses for the yes option here and 3669 responses for the no option.
