India star Rohit Sharma’s daughter Samaira turned 1 on Monday (December 30) and the opening batsman was lucky enough to celebrate the special occasion with his full family. With no cricket assignment right now, Rohit Sharma is spending some quality time with his family. He and his wife Ritika were blessed with Samaira last year when the batsman was in Australia.

Rohit had left the team midway through the Test series to be with his wife and had missed the remainder of the series too. In the last one year, the fans have seen a number of adorable moments between Rohit Sharma and his daughter and the latest post from the India batting star is equally adorable.

Rohit Sharma took to Instagram to post a photo of his family celebrating the birthday of his daughter. All the family members were wearing customised t-shirt with Samaira’s first written on it. Along with the picture, Rohit Sharma also posted an adorable message for his young one, writing:

“Happy happy birthday to my little Cookie Monster. Your arrival has brought nothing but excitement, laughter and bliss to our lives. Here’s to more midnight dancing, rapping and showing you the world ❤️”

A year to remember:

Samaira’s arrival brought plenty of luck for Rohit Sharma as he had a stunning 2019 with the bat and as captain. He finished the year by claiming a 22-year-old world record during the third ODI against West Indies in Cuttack. Rohit Sharma surpassed surpassing Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya’s 1997 record of most international runs as an opener in a calendar year.

In the summer, he had led Mumbai Indians to a record fourth IPL title before scoring five centuries in the World Cup. With 1,490 runs, he also finished the year as the highest run-scorer in ODIs.
