Rohit Sharma Wins Hearts By Chilling Out With Pakistani, Indian and Sri Lankan fans
Rohit Sharma has been winning hearts with his exceptional batting and captaincy in the ongoing Asia Cup. The right-handed batsman has led India from the front to guide them to the final of the competition.
Rohit’s captaincy has received rave reviews from former captains and his bowling and fielding changes have been the highlights of this tournament. His planning and the use of spinners in the middle phase of all the matches has made sure the game does not drift away from India.
Rohit has been in prolific form with the bat and has so far scored 269 runs from four matches at an average of 134.50, including two fifties and a century.
Well, the India opener has now won hearts with a beautiful gesture away from the cricket field. Rohit shared a picture with Indian fan Sudhir Gautam and Pakistan’s Bashir Chacha along with a couple of Sri Lankan supporters in Dubai, a day after India’s thrilling tie against Afghanistan in a Super Four match.
Taking time out of his busy schedule, Rohit spent some time with Sudhir, Bashir, Mohammad Nilam and Gayan Senanayake.
Rohit took to Instagram to post the picture, writing:
“So much love for the sport in one picture.”
Rohit is a popular player among these super fans. Last year, he had arranged for Nilam to return home to Sri Lanka from India to see his ailing father. Rohit had also offered financial help for a surgery but Nilam had refused to take any money.
Meanwhile, India will take on Bangladesh in the final of the Asia Cup on Friday. Bangladesh set up a date with India after beating Pakistan by 37 runs. Batting first, the Tigers rode on Mushfiqur Rahim’s 99 to post 239. In reply, Pakistan could only manage 202 for 9.
