RR vs GT: Watch - Hardik Pandya Tries To Copy Rashid Khan’s Bowling Action; Spinner Laughs

Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Hardik Pandya was seen copying his teammate Rashid Khan’s bowling action ahead of his team’s match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the ongoing IPL 2022 on April 14, 2022, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

The match was an important one for both sides as the winner of the encounter would go straight to the top of the points table and RR got the early advantage as their captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Both teams made some changes to their XI as GT included Vijay Shankar and Yash Dayal for Sai Sudharshan and Darshan Nalkande. For Rajasthan Royals, Jimmy Neesham came in for Trent Boult, who had a niggle.

While Matthew Wade (12) and Shubman Gill (13) and Vijay Shankar (2) fell early for GT, Hardik Pandya and Abhinav Manohar gave the innings stability and impetus in the middle overs. Manohar made 43 in 28 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes, before getting out to Chahal.

Then Hardik Pandya switched into top gear and along with David Miller, punished the RR bowling the death overs. Miller finished on 31* in 14 balls with 5 fours and 1 six, while Pandya made 87* in 52 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes to his name, as GT posted 192/4 in 20 overs.

Rashid Khan Laughs As Hardik Pandya Tried To Copy His Bowling Action

Hardik Pandya has looked extremely comfortable on the field as captain and has tried to keep things cool, barring some moments of frustration. His fitness is also good news for the BCCI, as this will enable the Indian team selectors to choose the best squad for the T20 World Cup in Australia.

Meanwhile, he was seen having a lighter moment with his teammate and vice-captain of the Gujarat Titans, Afghanistan star spinner Rashid Khan. On Thursday, he was seen imitating the bowling action of ace leg-spinner Rashid Khan before the clash against RR at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

He gripped the ball, ran through, and bowled it just like Rashid. This also left the spinner in splits.
