In the wake of the ties between Indian and China turning sour due to the movement at Line of Actual Control, their has been a call in the sub-continent to ban Chinese products. In fact, the government had went on and put a ban on more than 50 Chinese apps which were available on android and iOs platforms.

However, BCCI has continued to maintain VIVO as the sponsors for IPL, raising a few eyebrows. The decision has not been changed by the cricket board even as the whole country continues to abandon Chinese products. The board has signed a five-year deal with VIVO Rs. 2199 Crore in 2017.

Now the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, an affiliate of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has raised their voice against the stand taken by the cricket board and asked them to re-consider the Chinese sponsorship. National co-convenor of SJM, Ashwani Mahajan, said that the call for boycotting Chinese goods is the need of the hour. He also added that the world is against China but IPL sheltering them.

“The call for boycott of Chinese goods is no longer just a demand from SJM; it is a call that is being supported by citizens in the wake of what transpired between India and China,” Mahajan told Hindustan Times.

“Whole world is boycotting China, IPL is sheltering them. They should understand that nothing is above nation.”
