Former Australia fast bowler, Stuart Clark has bashed David Warner for his behaviour during the first Test against South Africa.

Meanwhile, Warner had an altercation with Quinton de Kock following the latter commented something foul about Warner’s wife.

In a leaked CCTV footage, Warner hurled a mouthful at de Kock while going to his dressing room after the tea session of the first Test. ICC punished both the cricketers for their behaviour. While ICC deducted 75 percent of Warner’s match fees, ICC deducted 25 percent of de Kock’s match salary.

Meanwhile, Clark feels Warner can lose his captaincy if he finds himself in something like this again. Also, one more demerit points will eventually get him a ban.

I imagine it will be very hard for him to keep his job as vice-captain if he gets suspended,” Clark said to Fox Sports News.

Lowering the standard of the team:

Clarke also feels Warner’s bad and aggressive attitude is hampering the standard set by the board. He hoped Warner remains cool in the next games.

He’s also lowering the standard of the cricket team and the standard the Australian cricket board set for the Australian cricket team. For David’s sake, I hope he can keep his cool, and they don’t have to have that discussion,” Clark added.

Clarke feels with one demerit points away from suspension; Warner should remain in line.

We (Australia) want you to play hard aggressive cricket, we want you to take on the South Africans, we want you to be the leader of the intensity and the commitment and for want of a better term, the attack dog. “But there’s also a line, and you can’t cross it because you’re now right on the edge and you’re looking over the edge,” Clark said.

Meanwhile, Australia will face South Africa in the second Test from today at Port Elizabeth. The visitors are currently 1-0 up in the four-match Test series.
