Virat Kohli smashed his 34th international hundred, as India thrash South Africa by 124 runs in the third ODI. As a result, India is currently leading the six-match series 3-0.
Furthermore, Kohli broke a plethora of records, as he remained unbeaten on 160 off 159 balls. His knock included 12 boundaries and two over boundaries.
Batting first, India posted 303 riding on Kohli’s 100 and Shikhar Dhawan’s 76. It looked like a daunting task for the host without their three top batsmen. Stand-in skipper Aiden Markram and JP Duminy tried to build a resistance but crumbled against India’s wrist spinners.
Furthermore, the duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal did the bulk of job the job. Both the spinner returned with four wickets, as South African batsmen found it hard to tackle them.
It was the same story for Kohli, as he seems to do nothing wrong with the bat in this format. He looked confident, as he played his shots with great authority. Hence, the cricketing fraternity was in awe of the Indian skipper.
Former Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly was not behind, as he expressed his feeling on Twitter. He wished Kohli’s success in future and also admitted it was an honour to see him play.
