However, India finished the series on high beating South Africa by 63 runs in Johannesburg. It will be a positive sign for India going into the fifty-over format.

India has as many as eight new cricketers coming into the ODI series. Indian team management will be hopeful that they adjust to the situations as early as possible.

After a few day off after the Test series, the men in blues were seen sweating it out ahead of the first ODI in Durban.

Board for Control of Cricket for India (BCCI) posted a few pictures from their official Twitter handle where the likes of MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, and Shreyas Iyer were spotted sweating it out on the cricket field. The cricketers were going through some fitness drills with a beautiful view at the back.

Hello Durban! Preparations begin for the 1st ODI here at Kingsmead #TeamIndia #SAvIND,” BCCI tweeted.

India has a star-studded team with Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan opening the innings, with Virat Kohli batting at one drop. India has a power-packed middle order; however, it will be interesting to see what bowling options India opts for the first ODI.

With already the no one ranked team in Test cricket, India has a golden opportunity to become the top-ranked team in ODI if they beat the host South Africa by a 4-2 margin or better.
