SA vs IND 2018: Fans Back Suresh Raina after excludsion from the ODI Squad

The BCCI on Saturday announced a 17 men squad for the One Day Internationals against South Africa and one of the major name missing from the squad is of Suresh Raina. Suresh Raina was one of the fittest players when he came into the team. He soon became the backbone of Indian middle order. However, a slump in his batting form has ruled him out from a contention in the Indian team.

He last played an ODI in 2015 and had struggled to book a spot in the side since then. He has been struggling with his fitness as well. A recent report suggested that he has now cleared the ‘Yo-Yo’ fitness test which might open up the doors for his selection but all these rumours were put to rest as the selectors did not pick him for Indian’s first away tour of a jam-packed season.

Raina has worked hard on his fitness and also played for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy but failed miserably as he could only score 105 runs in the nine Ranji innings which has not helped his cause to make it back in the national side.

Since the BCCI announced the squad for the ODI series, fans took to Twitter and asked the selectors for his omission.
