Besides being the offspring of one of the most notable cricketing personalities of the world, Arjun Tendulkar, is making giant strides in junior-level cricket.

Arjun made a name for himself in media after bowling to greats such as Team India skipper Virat Kohli, England’s star-allrounder Ben Stokes, wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow and explosive national team opener Shikhar Dhawan during the nets in the recent past.

Arjun grabbed the headlines earlier this year (2018) after his performance in a recent Twenty20 match at Bradman Oval in Australia where he scored 48 off just 24 balls and picked a four-wicket haul later.

Many claims that Sachin’s lad is an international prospect for India in the coming years.

However, legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar professed that his son should not feel the pressure of surname and people should not compare Arjun with himself.

Sachin, on the other hand, believes in providing freedom for his son to excel in his career path with hard work and hundred percent commitment.

“He’s trying. Like my father gave me freedom, I’m giving him freedom. Whatever he wants to be in life, he has to give his best, Comparisons would happen; if they want to do it, they will,” quoted Sachin Tendulkar at the Auto Expo at Greater Noida.

“But what I’ve learned from my father is that whatever work you’ve got to do, keep your focus on that. Rest of the things will continue to happen. Ups and downs are part and parcel of life. That’ll happen as long as you stay passionate. Then, you will be in a position to overcome those obstacles. You’ll push yourselves,” added Sachin according to TOI.

“And I’ve tried to do that. My experience was really good, the way my father gave me freedom, responsibility came alongside that freedom. So that is what I am trying to do. He should be “Arjun”. There shouldn’t be any comparison,” further commented Sachin when asked if he sees the next Sachin in him.

Along the same lines, Sachin also added that he is a firm believer that one should not compare the current Indian team with the other ones as each team has had different challenges at different points in time.

By comparing one from another, it erodes away the sacrifice and the work they had put in.

“I don’t like comparing teams. Because when we start comparing, we kind of subconsciously take away something from someone. They all have contributed in their own ways and to get to this level, all the players have sacrificed and worked hard,” concluded Sachin.
