Team India skipper Virat Kohli is celebrating his 31st birthday today. Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who Kohli idolises, extended his heartwarming greetings to the modern-day great on this auspicious day.

Meanwhile, Kohli is currently enjoying a well-earned holiday and will return to the field during the 2 Tests vs Bangladesh starting on November 14. In his absence, Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian side against the tourists in the ongoing three-match T20I series. India will have to bounce back after losing the first game of the series.
Virat Kohli, who made his international debut in August 2008 in an ODI against Sri Lanka in Dambulla, has played 82 Tests, 239 ODIs and 72 T20Is in his career so far. With 11520 ODI runs in 239 matches (230 innings), Kohli is the second Indian after batting legend Sachin Tendulkar with most runs.

He also has 43 ODI centuries under his belt, second-most in the world. Tendulkar tops the list with 49 ODI tons. In October last year, Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs. He is currently the top-ranked ODI batsman and sits second only to Steve Smith in Test formats.
Sachin Tendulkar, who is very fond of the illustrious cricketer shared a heart-touching message on his birthday in social media. Kohli has time and again expressed his gratitude for Tendulkar. The Little Master wished for Virat Kohli’s success in the future.
