Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar shared an old video of him practising with a leather ball during rains on a turf surface. In the video, he also struggled a bit while bating and also got hit with the ball but continued to bat as a part of his practice.

“Love and passion for the game always helps you find new ways to practice, and above all to enjoy what you do.#FlashbackFriday,” he wrote on Twitter.

Regarded as the finest batsman of modern-day cricket, Tendulkar made his debut for India as a 16-year-old kid in a Test match against Pakistan in 1989. He went on to create oodles of records and owns almost every batting record.

The first batsman to score 100 international centuries, Tendulkar is also the most capped player in Tests and ODIs with 200 and 463 caps in two formats, respectively.

In the longest format, he scored 15921 runs while in ODIs, Tendulkar piled up 18426 runs.

As for now, his record of most runs in Tests looks unbreakable but in ODIs, India skipper Virat Kohli looks likely to chase down Master Blattser’s record. In 230 innings, he has 11520 runs and can break highest run-scorer in ODIs if he continues to play for another 7-8 years.

Last year, Kohli had become the quickest batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs in 205 innings, 54 less than Tendulkar. He is also a likely candidate to become just the second batsman to score more than 100 centuries at the international level.

Tendulkar had retired from the game in 2013, after playing his farewell Test match at home ground in Wankhede stadium, Mumbai.

Since retirement, he has been associated with the game as the icon of IPL franchise Mumbai Indians, member of Cricket Advisory Committee of BCCI and as a commentator.

He continues to be part of Mumbai Indians but left CAC due to conflict of interest issue. Tendulkar is a part-time commentator and does not take up commentary on a regular basis.

The India legend was recently inducted into Hall of Fame, along with Allan Donald and Cathryn Fitzpatrick. Tendulkar was the sixth Indian to be bestowed with the honour, with Rahul Dravid being the previous Indian who joined the list in 2018.
