It is a tough time for citizens across the world. The Covid-19 pandemic has seen some old business houses shut shop due to lack of production while a lot of employees have lost their jobs. There has been a bloodbath, in terms of lay offs, in media as well. Amid all this, Sachin Tendulkar lookalike Balvir Chand, also lost his job.

Chand has accumulated a lot of fame for being the lookalike of the cricket legend. He has even met Sachin Tendulkar on a few occasions and participated with him in an advertisement. However, the pandemic situation, has turned out to be a difficult time for Balvir Chand.

Sachin Tendulkar lookalike worked for Goli Vada Pav No. 1

Chand served for a franchise named Goli Vada Pav No.1. But due to lack of business during the pandemic situation, employees including him, have been let go. Chand, however, has hopes as they might call him back as normalcy returns.

“They (Goli Vada Pav No 1, Chand’s employers) lost business after the lockdown and let go of a lot of staff. I too was asked to leave; they said they would hire me back when things improve,” Chand was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times on Wednesday.

Chand was also invited to the commentary box by cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar in 1999. It is during that incident when he achieved national recognition.
