The Indian lower-order provides some enrichened performance with the bat to tighten the grip on the match.
The series against Sri Lanka and the last tour to South Africa thoroughly back the observation. On many occasions, the runs from lower-order have proved rucial for India.
Furthermore, Ramesh accredits that new leadership skills are behind this new trend.
When it comes to batting, the depth of Indian batting is much better than it used to be in the yesteryears.
The lower-order has amassed a handful amount of runs compared to the previous occasions. Be it spin or seam, the quality of Indian batting department has already touched the new marks.
Talking about it, Ramesh said,
“Even mainstream bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar is contributing to the batting scorecard these days, and in such cases where the middle-and-lower batsmen help in scoring some crucial runs.”
“One thing that confers for this is the role of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. Credit goes to them, for helping the lower-order batsmen especially, for making them believe in themselves,” he added.
“When an opportunity comes, you have to try your best; give out the best result – this seems to be the motto in the application. Hence it doesn’t matter whether one is a bowler or not. You should just go out and bat when it’s your turn,” Ramesh concluded.
