Unsurprisingly, Salman Khan is one of the biggest Bollywood stars. However, there was a time when the legendary actor tried his skills at cricket and also took the game quite seriously.
Salman went to the extent of training under former legendary Indian cricketer, Salim Durani. He trained there for a week to hone his skills in the game.
This particular revelation was made by out of favour India all-rounder Irfan Pathan. He tweeted about his meeting with Salman Khan and how he heard several stories about Salman’s love for cricket.
“It was a pleasure meeting @BeingSalmanKhan Bhai n got to learn some great stories abt his love for the game. How many knew Sallu Bhai had trained under Salim Durani sir for a week or so #SalmanKhan #IPLFinal.”
The all-rounder met Salman Khan during the final of IPL 2018 between the Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The actor was present in the Hindi commentary panel along with Irfan and co-star Anil Kapoor.
Durani was a big name in the Indian cricketing circles during the 1960’s. He represented India in 29 Tests from 1960 to 1973. Durani was known for his all-round skills. Durani scored 1202 runs for India besides bagging 75 wickets.

Durrani also played an important role in India’s famous victories against England and Windies in the 1960’s. He was the first Indian cricketer to win the Arjuna Award. CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award also bestowed upon him by the BCCI in 2011.
Meanwhile coming back to the IPL final, we must remember the fact that as many as seven players were above 30 in the Chennai’s playing XI. However, Salman defended CSK against the label of an old team. In all CSK had nine players above 30 in the squad.
When Irfan asked Salman about his thought on people calling CSK a daddy army, Salman said that no one retires at 30.
“What are you even saying!? No one retires at the age of 30!” Salman said.
Chennai Super Kings proved their critics wrong, as they defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final of the tournament by eight wickets to lift their 3rd IPL title.
