“We Need To Bowl Them Out Cheaply In The First Innings And Try And Get Them Following On: Sam Curran On England's Roadmap After The 3rd Day Of The 2nd Test Got Washed Out

Sam Curran, England seam-bowling all-rounder, has said that the home side will now have to go for the kill and try and bowl West Indies twice in order to enforce a result in the second #raisethebat Test at Old Trafford in Manchester.
England is now running against time as far as enforcing a result after the entire third day of the 2nd Test got washed out due to the persistent Manchester rain.
England, riding on the back of twin hundreds from Ben Stokes and Dom Sibley, declared their innings late into the second day at 9-469, before reducing West Indies to 1-32 courtesy Sam Curran’s inswinger to John Campbell in the wee hours of the 2nd day.
“If we do get washed out today it is quite obvious what we need to do to win the game,” Sam Curran told Sky Sports on Saturday.
“We need to bowl them out cheaply in the first innings and try and get them following on. There is no reasons why we cannot do that,” he added.

‘It was clear there was going to be a rotation policy’- Sam Curran
With little-to-no breathing space between Test matches and a tight schedule in the form of a full series against Pakistan and white-ball series against Ireland, England have employed rotation policy as far as their fast bowlers are concerned.
England rested Mark Wood and James Anderson for the 2nd Test while Jofra Archer was dropped after he broke the bio-secure bubble protocols. Curran, who was added to the squad for this Test, opened up on England’s rotation policy where he said-
“Obviously, it’s going to be a big workload for the bowlers but we are nice and fresh and hopefully we can do something for the team. That’s why coming into the summer it was clear there was going to be a rotation policy and that’s why we have a totally different attack for this game,” Curran said.
West Indies lead the Wisden Trophy 1-0 and if the second Test ends up in a draw, it will ensure that Jason Holder’s men will leave the UK with the coveted prize, irrespective of what happens in the third Test.
