Sam Harper, Nathan Ellis Involve In A Nasty Collision In BBL - Watch

In an attempt to take a quick single, the young Sam Harper and the bowler Nathan Ellis involved in a nasty collision. Though Nathan was fine, Sam Harper suffered a serious injury, which saw him getting retired hurt. The incident took place during the match between Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes.
In was in the powerplay zone when Sam Harper hit straight to mid-off and sets himself for a quick single. During the course of his run, he failed to look at the bowler, who was in the same line of his run. The collision, however, caused more harm to Harper as he went tumbling over the bowler and fell awkwardly on the ground.
The independent doctor, who had come into check Harper’s condition, decided not to take any chance and took him off the field. Harper was batting on six off five balls when he left the field after retiring hurt. Later, the BBL tweeted that Harper would not be able to take any further part in the game and was replaced by Tom Cooper.
Getting into the details of the match, Hobart Hurricanes, who batted first, scored 190 runs on the board. The skipper Matthew Wade scored a brilliant 66 off 29 balls while M Wright knocked an unbeaten 70 to his name. The perfect cameo in the end by McDermott helped the team to put a massive total on the board.

In reply to the chase, Shaun Marsh started things pretty well for the team but the loss of Harris and Harper in quick succession didn’t help the team. Beau Webster and Nabi scored 50 and 63 respectively but all they managed was 186 runs on the board. The win ensured Hobart remain in the race while Melbourne Renegades registered 10th loss in this edition.
