One of the many endearing qualities of former Indian captain MS Dhoni was his ability to remain incredibly calm in the direst of situations. No matter how difficult or easy the situation was, nothing ruffled the champion wicketkeeper-batsman. He assumed a typical poker face and carried on with his job, befuddling the onlookers no end.
Sania Mirza, Indian Tennis sensation, recently drew similarities between MS Dhoni and his husband, the former Pakistan captain and all-rounder, Shoaib Malik, adding that both cricketers have a lot of similarities as far as their demeanors are concerned. Interestingly, Shoaib Malik was the captain of the Pakistan side that lost to India in the inaugural T20 World Cup final in 2007.
”Dhoni is a person who reminds me of my husband Shoaib Malik in terms of personality. The behaviors of the two are so similar. Both are silent by default. Enjoy at the same time. Both are very calm on the field. There are a lot of similarities between Dhoni and Malik,” Saina Mirza told Sportskeeda.

Sania Mirza opines on MS Dhoni not getting a farewell game before retirement
MS Dhoni recently called time on his celebrated international career via an Instagram post, and since fans have been calling for the BCCI to arrange a farewell game for the two-time World Cup-winning captain. But Mirza feels that the manner in which Dhoni chose to walk away from the game [without any farewell game] is a reflection of his personality and she believes that people should respect his choice.
”I think that if he (Dhoni) wanted to make a celebration out of it (retirement), he would. I think we should give him that. I think he is a big enough star or has achieved enough, be secured enough to say, ‘I am going to walk out a bit quietly and respectfully.‘ Sania Mirza said.
“I think that is what makes him the Captain Cool, that’s what makes him MS Dhoni because he is someone who has achieved so much not only for himself but for the country,” Sania added.
Sania Mirza was also asked to name his favorite Indian cricketers and she went on to choose Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, current superstar Virat Kohli, and of-course MS Dhoni.
