SCA Congratulates Ravindra Jadeja For Being Named India's Most Valuable Player During 21st Century

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja touched a new high on Wednesday as the Wisden adjudged him as India’s most valuable player of the 21st century. The all-rounder’s MVP rating, which came down to 9.73, was calculated using cricket analysis tool named Cricviz. In this regard, the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) showered their congratulations on Ravindra Jadeja as well amongst the fraternity.

The rating also made Jadeja the most precious player in Test cricket of all time behind former Sri Lankan spin wizard, Muttiah Muralitharan. Such has been the 31-year-old’s impact across formats in all the departments.

With the ball, Jadeja can provide breakthroughs during crucial junctures while keeping it economical. With the willow, he can add valuable runs down the order and build game-changing partnerships with the lower-order.

But fielding remains his strongest suit as many former and current cricketers have named him the best fielder of the modern era. Whether staying outside or inside the 30-yard circle, Ravindra Jadeja can take outstanding catches and hit the stumps directly. SCA, in a statement, congratulated him by describing Jadeja as the “Super Lion”.

“Everyone at Saurashtra Cricket Association heartily congratulates Saurashtra’s super lion Ravindra Jadeja on being felicitated by Wisden as Most Valuable Test Player of the 21st Century,” SCA’s release read.

Jaydev Shah, the President of SCA, added on the above by labelling the southpaw as one of the impressive talents and a dependable cricketer. With his game-changing ability across aspects, the Saurashtra all-rounder has earned this accolade for which he is very much worthy of.

“Ravindra has the phenomenal talent and is one of the most reliable cricketers in all formats. He is amazing with ball and bat, and also as a fielder. He has many times been a game-changer in international as well as domestic cricket,” Jaydev Shah added.

The spin-bowling all-rounder himself reacted via Twitter by thanking the teammates, coaches, and to all the fans, who have supported him throughout. He also aims to give his best for the nation moving forward. Ravindra Jadeja has so far featured in 263 international fixtures for India.
